Mikey, Max and I spent the weekend up a seldom used valley on the Peninsula, the snow was great, the snowmachines ran well, and the skiing was too good for this early in the season. I’ll have all sorts of video (of the steeper rocky stuff directly behind the spot from where I took the photo above) pictures and stories later this week. Max, Mikey and Jessie are going to check Placer out tomorrow, I wish I could join them, but I have a couple more days in the office to deal with.

A couple of scary avalanche stories to mull over while I get the new post up; one from Alaska, with a positive ending, another from Utah, inbounds at Snowbird, with a much worse ending, and a further incident in Colorado.
