Last year when I stepped through customs in  Bolivia the first person I met was a Chilean (from the Dominican Republic) named Alejandro, who immediately started talking to me about skiing.  I spent most of that first day in awe as Alejandro pulled out ski stories, stretching from the Andes to the Alps.  Ever since a good day on the slopes with Alejandro has been high on my list of priorities.  Anyway, Alejandro just posted a little of his footage of skiing in Portillo and La Parva back in the 1970s which I’ve re posted up above.  The cinematography is fantastic, with plenty of gorgeous close ups of  rhythmic turns on skinny skis.  If you reading this site you have no excuse not to spend 7 minutes watching it.
